Congrats!
I'd love to have the coin and time to compete in factory stock.
Who is doing the short block and heads, and which heads?
Are you going the cam doctor route?
Do you plan on competing in '06?

I plan on competing in 06' for three races. Bradenton, Reynolds, and Bowling Green. In 07' I hope to draw in a full time sponsor and compete for the full schedule. Right now I have the heads at THE HEAD SHOP in houston, tx. Jerry Chambers the owner there is doing the heads and he does an excellent job. He is also building me a shortblock over the summer and should be complete and in the car by bowling green. The block I'm going to run at bradenton, and reynolds is a stock 98 explorer shortblock with 5.0 oil pan, pump, timing chain set, 5.0 cam, and of course the cobra intake with "P" heads.
It should be fun. I didn't spend a fortune on this car. It's basically a conglomeration of many good used and some new parts with a good set of heads. It should run well....we will see.
all my suspension is by a company called UMI performance.
I know of the cam doctor but do not have access to one. I probably should...but at this time I don't even know who has one unless its ED Curtis of FTI.

I'll post back pics as they progress. Its gonna be tight getting it back together by bradenton, but I have a good friend of mine who will stick with me and get r done!
have a good one
Thanks
Jack

so far all I've gotten from justin is info and a new shifter, which I'm probably gonna sell the shifter since my trans came with a good one.
The heads are done by a guy named jerry chambers in houston (of the Larry Felts Trophy Stock fame). The shortblock will be a stock 98 explorer shortblock until after reynolds....gonna build a new motor after the second race since the next race I will make will be Bowling Green (the last race of the season in September). I have to keep reminding myself this is my building year. I'll have a decent chassis for bradenton, but my shortblock will only be stock. I guess I have to set some decent times with my factory shortblock....then forge on! If I run 12.99 or better at Bradenton...I will be proud...especially since the car has been taken so far down with such a short amount of time to re-build it.
wish me luck!
I would have sent you my intake, but no porting is allowed in FS....:(

good to see you here. This seems to be a really great site.
