I think you should be ok once you do a little tuning. I, personally, have run 24# on SD without an issue. 30# should be doable with an AFPR and maybe an IAB adjustment or two. I definately don't think I would go above 30# on the stock SD electronics (ie get a DFI setup or chip)

... the stock cooling system shouldn't be putting out much more than ~17 psi. You may want to check your rad cap if your pressure is high... maybe it is old or for the incorrect pressure range and thus not releasing... making your heater core function as your rad cap should be...ouch
